In July-August 2023, the Khanabad archaeological expedition of the Andijan region conducted field research at the «Hamkor Stimul Service» Research Center for Innovative Projects. A junior researcher at the Bioarchaeology laboratory of the National Center of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the expedition from July 3 to August 15, 2023.
The expedition is a practical project on the topic of creating an electronic database by studying archaeological sites on the slopes of Mount Khanabad.
In this regard, excavations of the grave were carried out at the Khanabad 1 monument in the city of Khanabad. The monument is located at an altitude of 20 meters above the graves of which piles of stones have been preserved. The head of the expedition, senior researcher at the Samarkand Archaeological Institute, archaeologist B. Abdullaev said that the structure of the stone ridges and graves, the discovery of a hearth in the center and ceramics in it belong to the monuments of the Eilatan culture.
