Mikhail Shenkar, Professor of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel on Monday, May 1, 2023, will visit our National Center of Archeology at Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
Mikhail Shenkar's research interests include archaeology, arts, and religion of pre-Islamic Iran and Central Asia, including Zoroastrianism, Eurasian nomadic cultures, Sogdian civilization, and the Silk Road.
He is currently Director of excavations at ruins of the Sogdian city of Sanjarshah in northwestern Tajikistan and the project leader on creating the database of Sogdian fine arts.
Our guest of honor - Mikhail Shenkar will deliver a lecture on topic of "Sogdian Palace of Sanjar Shah and its decorations (VIII century)" on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 15:00 in the conference hall of our Center.
